Early Victorian 15kt Gutta-Percha Ring with Buckle Detail
Qty:
A very unusual gutta-percha ring from the early Victorian (ca1850) era! This unique and stylish piece is made from a solid piece of hand-carved gutta-percha, which has a smooth, earthy brown surface. Hugging the center of the ring is a flat, wide band of vibrant 15kt rosy yellow gold, resting within a carved groove which encircles the piece. The gold band has a simple buckle-like design featuring a pointed flap secured by a single gold stud, creating an interesting accent to the bold ring. The contrast between the vibrant gold and the dark gutta-percha has a very striking look and the very unique piece, would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 8; due to the unique design, it can not be resized. The surface of the ring measures 1/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is great. There is some minimal surface wear to both the gold band as well as the gutta-percha ring, however, nothing that is unusual for a piece of this age, and none that is noticeable when worn.
